Shop Small | Miley and Moss

MileyandMoss.co.uk

love supporting small businesses, especially when they're local! With small businesses, you know that a hell of a lot of love, time and care have been put into the making of their products, not to mention blood, sweat and tears which makes the product feel so much more special, even more so for special occasions!

I wish I could afford to solely shop small but most of these businesses are run by mums just like me who want to stay at home with their babies but being a one man band means that they have a lot more work to do in a lot less time, hence why their prices are usually a little higher but they Miley & Moss are definitely worth the splurge!

I can't quite remember how I came to find Miley and Moss, though Instagram is where I usually stumble upon the best independent shops, but I have been hooked ever since I discovered them. I have already purchased numerous items from them, with my favourites being their rompers which are simply adorable, not to mention practical for a busy toddler

The quality of Miley and Moss' garments are incredible, the details are simply perfect and they wash like a dream! I couldn't recommend them enough! I already have my eye on more items for Emme with Petal Picking being my new favourite fabric, I definitely need to purchase something in this next, I'm thinking the Lola long sleeve dress to pair with tights and tan coloured boots, I just love A/W fashion!

Have you checked out Miley and Moss yet? What are your favourite independent shops?

LittleLife Butterfly Toddler Daysack Review

Reins were one of those things pre-baby that I thought were downright cruel! Why don't parents just let their babies run freely? Why can't they just let them hold their hand instead of walking them like they walk their dog? Admittedly it kinda does feel a little akin to walking your dog sometimes when your child wants to stop and look at everything and you give a gentle tug to entice them to carry on their journey, however I now realise how life saving (literally when your child tries to run into the road) reins actually are!

Now I didn't expect Emme to be walking so early but this girl went from not walking to walking in .5 seconds, she took those first steps and literally became a whizz at it the week before she turned eleven months! With her being so young, I expected it to be more of a progressive thing but within a week she wanted to do everything by herself, including walking without holding my hand!

Although it's exhausting now that Ems can get into even more things, I have loved how happy walking has made her, which I'm sure is down to the fact that she can get up to way more mischief when mummy's eyes in the back of her head blink for a second, and I just love how grown up and independent she is already, albeit a little emotional about the whole thing!

On insta ( my biggest obsession) follow me on @abeautifuldelight if you don't already, I follow a lady called Louise @louloubellexo (check her out) who's gorgeous little girl Isla is a little over 3 months older than Emme and ever since I saw the photographs of Isla wearing the Butterfly Daysack Reins back in April I had imagined Emme tootling around in them too. Fast forward to June when Dan was on the front bringing the new plants in from the car and me and Emme went to help him, Emme sprinted towards the road and had a full on melt down when I wouldn't let her walk around the street freely, oh the joys of having a toddler, it was at this point that I decided that we too needed these reins!

The LittleLife Daysacks come in several different designs including a dinosaur, Minnie Mouse, Buzz Light Year and ladybird just to name a few but we chose the butterfly as I loved the cute girly design. The Daysack is suitable from one to four years and has adjustable padded shoulder straps, it features a removable rein, internal name and address tag, chest strap to prevent the backpack from slipping and a top grab handle which allows you some parental control even when the rein strap is off. The backpack itself is great for popping a drink and snack in when your going on short walks but can hold a surprising amount in there if your little one is a bit older.

We didn't actually purchase the reins until after Emme's birthday but I am so glad that we did, Emme loves these and often points to them for me to put her little backpack on and then tootles off with it on. I love that you can unclip the hand strap and I think this is a big part of why Emme loves them so much as we just let her wear the backpack for a few days first until she was used to it and we knew she was enjoying it before we decided to take her on an adventure with the handstrap clipped on. Emme will often wear the backpack around the garden, she loves it that much, she's also happy to wear it out and about if it allows her to walk unaided (or so she thinks) and I've found it pretty great for short supermarket trips, where she wants to walk around herself and I don't have to break my back running around bent over directing her away from every trolley and shelf corner.

I would highly recommend these if your toddler has just started walking too!.

Does your little one have these or something similar? What do you think?

Review | Nanshy Eye Brush Set...

Makeup brushes are a staple that I just cannot buy enough of with Real Techniques and Zoeva being some of my favourite makeup brush brands, however Nanshy are a brand that have always intrigued me. Nanshy are a brand based in the UK who pride themselves on their high quality, vegan, 100% cruelty free and affordable brushes. Although popular among the blogosphere, I have never actually gotten around to trying out the brushes for myself despite them being on every birthday/Christmas list for the last few years, so when the opportunity arose to review some, I couldn't have been happier!

I am easily swooned by packaging and I love that Nanshy haven't compromised this factor when creating their products with affordability in mind, featuring a clear plastic tray which holds the gorgeous pearl handled brushes in set, encased in a damask effect tray with a description of each brush on the back to ensure you know the uses for each one, although simple, the packaging is gorgeous.

I hate that a lot of brands within the beauty industry still test on animals or simply cannot state whether or not they do, due to their sources, so I love that all of Nanshy's products are 100% vegan, cruelty free and approved by PETA org! Although this isn't something i am always conscious of when buying products, these are factors that win me over!

Synthetic brushes are very popular, however finding synthetic brushes of a high quality and that wash well isn't always the easiest task. Nanshy's brushes are made using antibacterial bristles, are hand assembled, extensively tested and are ridiculously soft! I have honestly never felt synthetic brushes that are as soft as these! I hate nothing more on my sensitive eyes than a brush that scratches, especially when blending, but these brushes are so delicate on the skin! So far I have washed these brushes twice with dr.bronners liquid soap and have experienced no shedding at all which is always a bonus, so it's safe to say these have replaced more than a few of my old favourite makeup brushes and have become a firm favourite in my makeup bag!

I often hear people complaining about the price of makeup brushes and I have to admit in the past, I have tried the odd dupe from eBay in an attempt to save money, however from experience, I truly believe that their is no point in buying expensive products if your tools aren't up to scratch, compromising application, so personally I think makeup brushes are worth investing in. Luckily Nanshy included price in their mission when creating their brushes and the prices are so affordable with this set being just £29.95 for seven brushes! That works out at just over £4 per brush making them so much more affordable than most brands without compromising the quality.

Onto the brushes...

Precise Bent Eyeliner Brush

I have always found these brushes intriguing but have never gotten around to trying one out, I was a little sceptical at first as I never find eyeliner brushes easy to work with and usually dismiss them altogether, however this one has become my morning savior, it works perfectly with gel liner with the angle of the brush allowing you to rest your hand on your cheek for balance, making application so much quicker and easier!

Angled Detailer Brush

If you fill in your brows on a regular basis, you will know just how hard it is to find the perfect brush, however this one from Nanshy ticks all the boxes - sturdy, angled and just the perfect size, this has been my new go-to brow brush!

Flat Definer Brush

This brush is great for getting both wide, even strokes when used flat and long thin strokes when turned, however I mainly like to use this one for applying eyeshadow underneath and above my lash lines, as it's just the perfect size to apply a thin neat line of eyeshadow (i try to avoid the panda eye where possible).

Blending Eyeshadow Brush

Blending is such an important step when applying makeup and finding the perfect blending brush to do so is such an important task, this brush allows for smooth application ensuring pigment clings to the skin and not the brush.

Eye Crease Brush

Slightly larger than the tapered crease brush, this one is perfect for applying and blending your transition colour into the crease as it covers a slightly wider area.

Tapered Crease Brush

I like to use this tapered crease brush to apply a darker eyeshadow into the crease of my eye before I blend it out, this gives me a more precise application and allows me to place the colour exactly where I want it.

Large Shader Brush

This multipurpose brush is perfect for both shading and blending, however i find the size of this brush makes it perfect for quick application of my base colour as it covers a wider surface area.

Overall I have fallen completely in love with Nanshy's brushes! Synthetic, soft, vegan, cruelty free and affordable, they tick every box! I can't wait to get my hands on more of their products including their new Marvel 4 in 1 makeup blending sponge which is next on my list!

Have you tried any brushes from Nanshy?

My Little Box | Dolce Vita...

'Everything sounds better in Italian'

This month's My Little Box had me smiling from the second I opened it! This Italian themed box oozes summer appeal and made me feel so inspired to start travelling now that Emme is getting a little older! I can just imagine Em toddling along down the old cobbled streets, smiling at passers by to gain their attention and indulging on daddy's ice cream to her hearts content.

This months lifestyle products are probably my favourite yet! The gorgeous gold leaf ring (£12) is simply amazing! It is so on trend right now and I love that it's adjustable as I have been opting to wear this on both my thumb and middle finger.

The hair turban (£11) isn't something I would usually wear and would usually just toss to the side, however I have actually been sporting this quite regularly already as its great for keeping my hair out of my eyes during the lovely heatwave we have had recently.

Onto the beauty products, often when a subscription box throws in a product of their own brand, they aren't of great quality and I'm usually pretty miffed, however My Little Box include some amazing products! I haven't yet gotten around to trying the summer sunbathing illuminating moisturiser for legs (£8) however I'm actually really excited to try this gradual moisturising self-tanner as its smells amazing!

Baija Paris Croisiere Celadon Body Oil 30ml (16,90€ per 50ml) I love using body oils in summer as I have quite dry skin and this delicately scented semi-dry oil looks like the perfect new addition for this summer! This can be used after cleansing, after your shower and it can be used in the bath to leave skin 'satin-smooth'.

La Fille De L'air Courrèges 8,5ml (€69 per 50ml) this generously sized sample of perfume completed this box perfectly, I fell head over heels for this delicate and sophisticated scent from the second I smelt it and I have been wearing it ever since! This reminds me of romantic candlelit meals down by the beach, with great food, lots of laughter and so much happiness.

Take me to Rome!
