Mini Drugstore Haul

So on my lunch break last week I wasn't feeling too great, so I decided to take my full lunch hour, get a little fresh air and ended up having a little mooch around Boots and Superdrug, which meant that I finally got round to picking up a few 'must haves' that have been on my list for a little while. I set out with a list and actually stuck to it for the first time in a very long time. I have since bought a few more beauty bits but I thought it would be best to split them into more than one post.

Garnier Skin Naturals Micellar Cleansing Water 400ml £4.99 Boots

When I noticed that I was running low on my beloved L'oreal Micellar Water, I went on the hunt for the New Garnier version. Although I think the L'oreal micellar water is pretty amazing, I've heard such good reviews about the Garnier version recently and you seem to get a lot more for your money, so I thought it was worth a try. I'm excited to use it, so much so, that I'm literally soaking my cotton pad each time I use the L'oreal one, in order to use it up quicker, as I don't want to open the other until it has ran out. I've searched each supermarket I've been to food shopping in the past couple of weeks and was disappointed that I couldn't find it any of them, but I finally found it in Boots and I can't wait to give it a try.

Q Awe The Fine Fragrance Body Spray 100ml £2.29 £1.14 Boots

I first heard of Q when I received a full size body spray from them in one of my first every beauty boxes, Glossybox if I remember rightly, and if I'm honest at the time I just thought, whoopdy-woo it's a body spray! However I was pleasantly surprised to find that Q body sprays are filled with the most amazing scents, and they last all day long too. This is my first repurchase as I didn't know that Boots stocked them until a few months ago and when I saw they were on offer at half price, I thought what better time to try out the different scents! This time I picked up the Radiance spray with Rose and Bergamot, this is the perfect scent for everyday, subtle yet sophisticated.

Vichy LiftActiv Advanced Filler 2ml sample free. 30ml £31 Boots 

Who can resist a freebie? I was looking at the skincare section when I came across a mound of these little 2ml samples amongst the tester tubes. I must admit, I did just pick it up because it was free, I'm not going to lie to you, I hadn't heard of the product before but the fact that it contains retinol definitely intrigued me.

B. Vibrant Lip & Cheek Colour in Fandango 112 £7.99 £5.32 Superdrug

       

B. is one of those brands, that I've heard of, been intrigued about but never actually checked out, however when I saw these on the lovely Evelyn's blog We Were Raised By Wolves and saw that B. had a third off, making these just £5.32 I found it hard to resist. I love lip colours like this in a kind of pen form as I think they're easy to apply and the perfect size to fit in your handbag. These also look super glossy and the colour range is fab too.

MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighting Powder £3 Superdrug

         

I have been searching for this product for too long in my local superdrug, I have been in almost every other day just to see if they have it back in stock. Then last week I popped in to look for the B. Lip colour and they actually had a shelf full. This is such a hyped up product that I hope it's as good as everyone says it is, though at just £3 you can't really go wrong.

City Centre Shopping

A few weeks ago me and Dan headed into the city centre as he had a meeting to attend. I went along as we both had the day off, meaning I went off to shop whilst he did work stuff and then we spent the day in the city together. I didn't actually need to buy anything, but to kill time, I headed into boots to have a look around. Seriously, who goes in and actually walks out empty handed? Not me! I must learn self restraint!I must learn...

Maybelline New York Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Lightweight Primer £7.99 Boots

This was one of those products that I wasn't particularly bothered about having, even after all the hype surrounding it, however the blusher (see below) I did want, and Boots had the buy one get one half price offer on, so I thought I might as well try it out. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised by how amazing this primer is, this transparent primer isn't dissimilar to the Benefit Porefessional Primer in many ways, except for colour. It has a gel like texture, which almost dissolves under your fingers as you apply it to the skin, leaving a smooth, matte surface to apply your foundation on top of. It instantly minimises pores, however I don't feel enough to wear alone, as it suggests you can,it also helps your base to stay put throughout the day. I have really been loving this primer and I don't think I'll be changing it any time soon.

Maybelline Expert Wear Blush in Flash Plum £5.19 Superdrug

This blush is perfect for Winter, with it's warm tone and silky texture, it's perfect for day or night. I have longed for this blush for a while now, since way before Christmas, but this was another 'hard to get hold of' product on my list. I am really glad that I finally found it, as I usually go for more pink toned blushes, whereas this is quite purple toned, and I think it's good to have a variety to create different looks. The texture means that it doesn't stick to any dry areas but rather sits on top of the skin, as you would expect from a blush and the staying power is pretty good too.

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Elusive £7.99 Boots

If I could have justified the need for each and every one of the new Revlon Balm's, both Matte and Lacquer, trust me, I would have, but if you took a look at my lip colour collection already, you would understand why I had to limit myself to just the one. I had no idea which one to choose, there were far too many new colours, but having already bought a L'oreal Paris Glam Shine Balmy Gloss earlier on in the week, I decided to go for a matte shade. Elusive was the only one that was almost empty, so I thought it must be a pretty good colour and so my decision was made. I love that this colour is a pale pink (see swatches below) and is therefore perfect for everyday wear. It is such a soft balm, and has a hint of mint taste, however make sure your lips are thoroughly exfoliated before applying as it sticks to any dry patches and this is definitely not the look you are going for.

MAC...

Whilst walking through the centre, Dan, yes Dan spotted the MAC shop and urged me to go in and finally purchase the eyeshadow to complete my quad. Man, was it hard to not buy everything in that shop, but because I had already spent more money than needed, I was actually good and just stuck to the one eyeshadow.

MAC Naked Lunch £10 MAC

I won't talk too much about this as I have already done so here, but this is a great eye colour to wash all over the lid, add Satin Taupe to the crease and you have the perfect everyday smokey eye ( or even a subtle one for night).

Kimono £14.99 H&M

              

I've wanted a kimono for a while but with most of them being around £30 everywhere, and them being a 'fashion' item I hadn't yet justified buying one. However when I saw this floral one in H&M for just £14.99 I couldn't resist! I've already got a fair bit of use out of it, mainly pairing it with a vest and leggings or jeans, with a statement necklace for evenings. I think I'll definitely get my wear out of this and it will see me through summer too, to throw on during the cooler nights.

Longline Cardigan £7 Sale H&M

I have far too many cardigans but at £7 I thought this was an absolute bargain, it's long line, with full length sleeves and looks great for everyday with jeans, a vest and boots. It's a neutral colour so it goes with almost anything, the only downside is with it being long line, it creases easily and I hate ironing!

A Picture Paints A Thousand Words...

I have become Instagram obsessed since starting my beauty blog over a year ago and it has pretty much become a habit, some may even say an addiction, is there an Instagram rehab yet?! to just post pictures of everything! I mainly post pictures of my latest fashion buys, beauty buys, good old selfies and yes, even my food!

I love how social media apps such as Instagram enables you to interact with people that you would probably never even cross pathways with in your entire life, have conversations with them and allows you to get to know each other more through a safe environment! I think it's so nice that once you've posted a picture, that we are able to like these pictures, to let that person know that we like it too, or we can comment, and even have long conversations with people as I regularly do.

I also love that it enables me to share my blog, let my followers know when I've written a new blog post and allows new people to discover my blog too.

But the thing I love the most is that Instagram has enabled me to interact with like minded people! Since creating my account I have started talking to a quite a few beauty bloggers over Instagram and this really makes me smile :) on many occasions I've had a really bad day, gone home, looked on my account and seen a lovely comment from someone that has then made my bad day seem not so bad after all. It's times like these that I am so grateful for my blog, my followers and social media, because without the lovely comments a bad day would stay just that! Some of these girls are like friends to me, I enjoy talking to them, feel like I could actually confide in them and I wish some of them lived closer!

These three lovely ladies in particular have made me smile, they are all so pretty, super sweet and deserve far more followers. They all also have amazing beauty blogs which you should check out too!

LVNDR lovelies...

I've been following the lovely Emma from Emtalks for quite a while now, she writes an amazing blog, creates fantastic Youtube videos and seems like such a lovely, down to earth person, not to mention she's super pretty. So when Emma announced the launch of her online jewellery shop called LVNDR I was rather intrigued. The prices are affordable, the pieces are unique and the packaging is divine, I couldn't not make a purchase!

With Valentines day coming up I opted for the XOXO Ring and Sweet Heart Studs both in silver, these are both such sweet pieces and I've not taken them off since I received them. 

The XOXO ring comes in a size N, this is the perfect size for me as if fits perfectly on both my middle and Ring fingers, the sizing's are stated so if your not sure whether it would fit, Emma makes it simple to measure before you order. This is actually sold out in Silver at the moment, but it is available in Bronze and there is new stock regularly. This is priced at just £3.49 which I think is pretty good and it's definitely worth it! 

The Sweet Heart Studs are nice for everyday wear, they also come in gold and at £1.99 how could I not pick these? My ears are pretty sensitive to costume jewellery, especially earrings but I've worn them all week and my ears haven't reacted yet. They're also weightless meaning you forget you have them in, which I love because there's nothing worse than earrings that weigh your ears down and make them sore.

Delivery is super cheap at just 89p for second class or £1.29 for first class, this may vary due to location, though I am not sure as delivery is calculated once you go to your basket. LVNDR also ship worldwide for a small fee.

These items are the perfect gifts for Valentines Day so a few nudges to loved ones could be worth a try!
