'Get to know me' Tag and My Blog's First Birthday

Wow, I seriously cannot believe that today is A Beautiful Delight's first birthday!

It all started as a little hobby last year, after spending my summer off from uni watching the youtube videos of Tanya Burr and Zoella and venturing into reading their blogs too. I already had an unhealthy shopping and beauty hoarding addiction, and I thought why not turn this into something positive? So I did, and ABeautifulAddiction21, as this blog was originally named, was born!

I really do love blogging, and although I don't make enough time to do it, and I often get writers block, so frustrating! I'm really proud of how far I've come! I didn't think I would ever have a single person read my blog, let alone follow it, and although I do it because I enjoy it, and not for the followers, I really appreicate that others want to read what I write, so thankyou so much to those of you who do!

I thought I would do the 'get to know me tag' for those of you who have just started following me, or those of you who would just like to know a little more about me, I found it on Hannah Maggs blog, she's my current favourite beauty blogger and vlogger, if you haven't checked her out yet, go check her out at www.alittlebeautyspot.blogspot.co.uk, trust me, you'll love her!

Enjoy...

Are you named after anyone?

No, but my name was supposed to be Chelsea, until my dad's friend told him he couldn't call me after a football team, which is a shame because I quite like it.

When was the last time you cried?

I seriously cannot remember, it'll come to me later I'm sure, I usually cry all the time, over anything and everything, but I've become a little tougher lately and am learning to take things a little easier so I've not cried too much.

Do you have children?

No, but I am becoming so broody lately, I would have one now, if the situation was right, but I want to find a career I'm comfortable in and buy a house first, as we still live at home.

If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?

I would like to think that I'm a good friend, I think i'm a good listener, I'm loyal, I will drop what I'm doing if a friend really needs me and although I don't really go out, due to health issues, so I'm not too much fun, I will happily enjoy a glass of wine and have a good natter any night of the week, providing it's at home. So yes, I think I would :)

Do you use sarcasm a lot?

I use sarcasm, but not a great deal, I used to as a teenager, but I guess all teenagers do.

What's your favourite cereal?

I don't actually eat cereal anymore as most of them make me ill, I eat gluten, wheat and dairy free muesli with greek yoghurt and maple syrup every morning, does that count?

What's the first thing you notice about people?

wow, this is tough, I'd probably say appearance, if it's just someone I pass in the street. However if it's someone I meet, I'd say their voice, the way they sound and how they speak, it facinates me, is that wierd?

What's your eye colour?

Dark brown, I actually get a lot of compliments on my eyes, but I wish they were blue, I love blue eyes!

Scary movies or happy endings?

Happy endings without a doubt! If I watch a scary movie I'll have nightmares for weeks!

Favourite smells?

I love floral scents, at the moment, my favourite is The Body Shops White Musk Smokey Rose perfume, it's amazing and lasts all day!

Summer or Winter?

Winter because I love comfort, hot chocolate, warm dinners, socks, dressing gowns, coats, throws and candles = perfection.

Computer or television?

Computer, I've grown up listening to music rather than watching TV and my dad's a computer whizz so naturally I'm a computer geek, to a certain extent. At night dan will watch TV whilst I blog, which we are doing right now :)

What's the furthest you've been away from home?

I went to america when I was 6 with my mum and two of my aunties, my mum has three sisters and one lives in America, we went over to surprise her and be at her wedding, it was too expensive at the time so she didn't think we could make it. Although I was young I still remember the look on her face when she saw us, it's an amazing memory to keep.

Do you have any special talents?

I can talk super fast without taking a breath, when me and my mum or aunties get talking nobody can understand us, other than us, and the lads usually have to leave the room because they can't handle it :)

Where were you born?

I was born in a little town called Mansfield in the East Midlands, I'm currently still here, but I really want to move to London, it's just a case of twisting Dan's arm.

What are your hobbies?

Shopping, hoarding, blogging, reading and I do yoga once a week. I also love running but am a little too lazy, I need to get back into it, because I feel so much better when I do.

Favourite Movies?

Pretty much most Rom-coms but P.S I Love you is probably my all time favourite, I've watched it countless times.

I hope you enjoyed this tag, I thought it would be fun to do, I know I love reading tags like these.

Have you done any tags recently?

What could I do to improve my blog?

Hydration is key

With the weather turning bitter and the constant need for heat upon us, it becomes more important to keep hydrated, especially when it comes to your scalp and skin! And what better way to start than in the shower or bath?

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Shampoo 400ml - £3.89 Boots / Conditioner - £3.89 Boots / Intensive Mask £4.19 Tesco

At this time of year my hair takes longer to dry and it just becomes more of a burden to leave it to air dry as it takes forever. Thus meaning that I use more heat on my hair, resulting in it drying out, especially because it's bleached, and my hair becomes more prone to split ends. However Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisture & Shine shampoo, conditioner and Deep Nourishing Intensive Mask really help my hair to become more soft, shiny and manageable, it's that good that I have to hide it from Dan.They all contain hawaian coconut extract, which smells pretty amazing, to help nourish the hair and are best suited to dry/damaged hair. I use the Intensive Mask once a week on pamper night, I shampoo my hair first and rinse thoroughly, I then lather this from root to tip and brush through with my tangle teezer. Although it suggests to leave on for five minutes, I wrap my hair in a towel and leave for around 30 mins while I soak in the bath, I then thoroughly rinse this from my hair and brush through again with my tangle teezer and blowdry. This leaves my hair silky smooth and so much more manageable, with an amazing shine, I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Wilkinson Sword for Women Hydro Silk Razor - £9.99 Boots and Blades 3's £8.49 Boots

Next up is my Razor, I know some people probably won't care about this part, which is perfectly fine, just skip to the next section. But lets face it, we all have to do a bit of de-fuzzing, and although it probably doesn't need doing as much at this time of year, yes I get lazy with this step,we live in leggings and jeans, why not? but when it comes to those christmas parties, the razor has to come out! Now I'm not one to stick to razors, I generally just buy them on offer when I decide that I need a new one, and this razor was no different, I bought it at boots as the razor was something daft like half price but I actually really like it. The white circles at the top and bottom of the head contain water-activated moisturising serum which are infused with marine extracts and claim to hydrate the skin for up to 2 hour after shaving. The 5 blades have skin guards to protect the skin from irritation and the razor is dermatologist tested. Now the facts are the way, time for my views... my skin is super sensitive ans the wrong products cause irritation to my skin, especially with razors, a few hours later my legs will itch so bad that I scratch them till I bleed, meaning that shaving my legs before a night out leaves me with legs that look like a cat attacked me, not attractive, not to mention it brings me out in a rash until my hair grows back, though this doesn't take long when you have pcos. However this razor is amazing for my skin, no itching, no rash, and my legs are super soft after shaving, like the kind of soft, where you just sit stroking your legs all night, just me, huh? So I would say I pretty much love this razor and may just decide to faithful with this one and stick with it, if you have skin problems too, I would definitley recommend checking this out.

Super Facialist by Una Brennan Rose Hydrate Intense Moisture Mask - £8.99 Boots

Now for the face, I'm sure all have you have heard of the Super facialist range by Una Brennan at boots, who hasn't?! The range contains so many new beauty blog favourites, designed to make you feel like you've had an expert facial after each use and best of all its affordable too! This is my first buy from the range and must say I'm already impressed, I can't wait to buy more from the range, especially when they have 1/3 off of selected super facialist products right now at boots making this beauty just £5.99. This mask contains white willow and marshmallow extracts, vitamin E and urea to hydrate, plump and replenish skin, whilst calming the complexion and giving healthier looking skin. I apply this once a week, again on pamper night, after cleansing and exfoliating the skin, just like the hair mask it suggests to keep on for 5 mins, however I apply this after my hair mask and allow both to penetrate deeply for 30 mins whilst I soak in the bath and read a magazine. This mask leaves my skin so so smooth, and my complexion looking healthy and glowing, and it's suitable for sensitive skin, Perfect!

How do you keep up your hydration during the cold months?

L'oreal Lovelies

I've been loving L'oreal Paris at the moment, they really seem to have there game on! What with their latest makeup collections, (Privee, Magique and Super Liner,) their latest haircare range (hair expertise) and their latest skincare range (skin perfection,) I'd say they're pretty much on fire! They're products work so well, their packaging is outstanding and they're constantly keeping us intrigued with their latest buys! Can you tell I'm hooked?!

Loreal Paris Lumi Magique Pearl Powder £8.99 - Boots

Honestly, I picked up this powder on a whim, because I needed a third item for my three for two offer, I wash in a rush and it looked pretty. I haven't heard anything about this product before, so I assume that it's new, but I haven't seen any hype around it either, if it is. This product uses 'light-infused pearl powder technology' and contains a highlighter plus two foundations which aims to create light and definition to the face.So far I have been loving this product, I have been using this as an all over setting powder, when my skin is a little lack lustre or as a highlighter when I contour.

L'oreal Paris Color Riche Collection Privee in Barely Griege by Cheryl £8.19 - Boots

I absolutely adore these lipsticks, they're very similar to the 'made for me' range that they did previously, in that there are different shades to suit different skin tones and hair colours. I purchased this one after buying and loving the shade 'Barely Pink,' but I wanted a slightly darker shade and this one is perfect for me. These lipsticks smell amazing and look amazing but I have to admit the staying power isn't as great as I would like, after a few hours and a few drinks it's usually gone, that being said, I am still totally in love with them and honestly enjoy reapplying them throughout the day. These are limited edition, and I would definitely recommend getting your hands on them while you can!

L'oreal Paris Super Liner Gel Intenza Golden Black in Pure Black - £9.99 - Superdrug

This is without a doubt the best eyeliner that I have come across, big statement, but I actually think it could be! First of all, I love the packaging, it looks so much more high end. This is the easiest eyeliner I have come across to apply, especially with the gorgeous precision brush that it comes with, and it makes flicks super easy too! And best of all, it really does last all day! The full 24 hours that it states? I'm not entirely sure, as I never wear makeup that long, who does? But I apply this around 6.30am before work and remove it at around 9pm before I go to bed and it still looks like I just applied it, so a full working day? definitley! What more could you want?!

Have you tried any of these products before? What do you think to them?

Organically certified, vegan approved and cruelty free accredited? It's possible with Pai!

There's just something about that feeling you get when you've completed your skincare routine, your skin smells amazing and it feels clean, clear and soft to touch.

We all have flaws, and for some of us that means a constant battle with the our skin. With the skin on our face coming into view on a daily basis, and being so delicate, it becomes a little more important to take care of it, especially when it comes to the Autumn and Winter months, with the weather wreaking havoc on it.

I've seen Pai Skincare a few times through posts on Instagram by various bloggers, and I'm a sucker for cute packaging, which led me to their website. I'm not one to splash my cash if I haven't heard a lot about the product, and even then I can more often than not be a little skeptical, so when I saw that Pai offer a Trial Set at just £5 with a free muslin cloth worth £3, I knew I had to have it! The delivery is super fast too, it arrived the day after ordering; and if all of that isn't good enough, all of Pai's products are organically certified, vegan approved and cruelty free accredited, as I'm sure you can tell, I am pretty much in love with the range already.

The night these arrived, I took to my usual routine, I took a shower, washed my hair, applied a hair mask and then started with my skincare routine, but this time I chose to use my Pai sampling set in replacement of my trusty old Liz Earle, shocking I know! I chose to use the Cleanser, Exfoliater and Hydrating Day Cream, here are my thoughts so far...

Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser 5ml

I started by massaging the cleanser into my face and neck using circular motions to remove any excess makeup, I then rinsed the muslin cloth under warm running water and used it to remove the cleanser. I then splashed my face with cool water to close the pores and patted my face dry with a clean towel. This stuff smells so amazing, you can really smell the oils in it and it leaves skin so soft. The cleanser melts in your fingertips and sinks into the skin with ease, allowing in to really work it's magic.

Kukui & Jojoba Bead Skin Brightening Exfoliater 4ml

After cleansing I massaged the exfoliater into my face, concentrating on any dry areas, I then added a little moisture to my fingertips and massaged again to turn the exfoliater in a milkier solution. I then rinsed this off with warm water and gently patted my face dry with a clean towel. This exfoliater works so well with the cleanser to achieve silky soft skin! The smell is just divine, I could sit and smell it all day! Is that wierd?! The exfoliating beads are amazing because they start off as little particles but when massaged in, they disappear, they are also just on the right side of exfoliating, as they're rough enough to dig deep, but not too rough that they would break the skin, and I think that's so hard to find in an exfoliater.

Avocado & Jojoba Hydrating Day cream 5ml

I love Avocado for it's hydrating properties and with winter creeping up on us, my skin needs some serious hydrating, so naturally I chose to use this moisturiser out of the four provided. After cleansing and exfoliating, I massaged this into my face and neck concentrating on dry areas such as the sides of my nose and my lips. This smells beautiful and leaves the skin baby soft whilst soothing any dry areas and keeping skin hydrated.

Also included:

Camomile & Roship Sensitive Skin Cream 5ml

Macadamia & Rose Dry Skin Cream 5ml

Geranium & Thistle Combination Skin Cream 5ml

These all smell amazing, and make your skin super soft, which of Pai's products don't? I love that Pai have a good selection of moisturisers to suit specific needs, such as hydration!

Have you tried Pai yet? What are your thoughts?
