Jewels and Velvet

When I first spotted this Elizabeth Arden Jewels and Velvet Compact for Eyes in my local Savers store, I was extremely excited, but when I saw that it was only £1.99, I must admit that I was a little skeptical about how it would be. This is crazy cheap for an eyeshadow palette anyway, let alone one from Elizabeth Arden and so I figured the stock must be damaged or just a really naff product.

That being said, I was more than happy to give it a go anyway, especially for that price and I must say I was really surprised! As you can see in the pictures above, the product isn't damaged, the compact itself is gorgeous, with a black stitched quilted design in a silky material and it's even small enough to fit in your handbag, perfect for those touch ups on a night out.

If the compact hadn't already amazed me, I found that the colours really did! They are actually really highly pigmented, they blend amazingly well, and they even last a full day at work! My favourite combination so far has been an everyday touch on the smokey eye, using sandstone as a base colour with plum smoke blended into the crease, which I have had so many compliments on when wearing! Simple yet understated..

Overall I was really pleased with this product, I haven't found a fault with it yet, and therefore I'm guessing that it is just a discontinued line of stock,  I am even tempted to go back for a few more to use as stocking fillers for friends and family, yes I am already on that christmas hype!

Have you tried this Elizabeth Arden palette? What did you think?

Bourjois Paris Colour Boost Lip Crayons

How many Lip Crayons does a girl need you ask? Well two more couldn't hurt could it?

I apologise as I am a little late with this post, but I thought, why not?!

The Bourjois Colour Boost Pens are one of the latest crazes that hit us during this summer, but they're perfect to take into A/W too, as they are amazingly moisturising and hydrating!

I purchased 'Peach on the beach' and 'Red Sunrise' which are both gorgeous colours, however I have taken more of a shine to 'Red Sunrise' which did surprise me as everyone has been raving about 'peach on the beach.' Honestly, I find this colour too pale, and it makes me look equally as pale, however funnily enough, I do feel that this suits those with fairer skin. 'Red Sunrise' on the other hand is a gorgeous red toned pink, which is perfect for an evening out, though I do love to pair it in the day with a more simple outfit to add a little contrast.

What I love about these lip crayons most is that they are super moisturising, which is perfect for me as I have dry, flaky lips all year round, they also add a great pop of colour whilst protecting lips with an SPF 15. The only downside is that it needs topping up often.

Have you tried the famous Bourjois Paris Colour Boost Lip Crayons? What did you think?

Wish List Glamour...

It's coming up to that time of year for me, where I have a ton of birthdays and therefore people to see, places to go and one quick glance at my current clothing confirmed that I need to inject a little glamour into my wardrobe and of course my makeup bag too.

Here's what I'm lusting after in the glamour stakes...

Hope this gave you a little inspiration
